The perfect touch to make this cookbook complete are recipes submitted by our Big Damn Heroes, also known as the Firefly and Serenity cast and crew.

So Joss, Tim, Nathan, Adam, Jewel, Gina, Alan, Summer, Sean, Ron, Morena, Mark, Jonathan, Michael, Christina, and all the rest... if you're out there, this is for you:

To All Our Big Damn Heroes and those we like to call "Heroes By Association":

We'd like to let you know about our project called Big Damn Chefs: The International Browncoat Charity Cookbook. Many kitchen-oriented Browncoats contributed to create a diverse and intriguing collection of recipes which was published and released for sale in December of 2006. In the works is, yes, a sequel! Draft titled Big Damn Chefs Rise Again, the next volume of the cookbook promises to be just as shiny and successful as the first!

All proceeds from the sale of the cookbooks go to Freedom from Hunger, an international development organization working in seventeen countries across the globe, helping hardworking women win life-saving victories against chronic hunger and build healthy lives for their children. Freedom from Hunger brings innovative and sustainable self-help solutions to the fight against chronic hunger and poverty. Together with local partners, they equip families with needed resources to build futures of health, hope and dignity. (http://www.freefromhunger.org/)

We invite you to participate in the project! A publication of this nature is most successful its audience when it includes contributions (recipes, personal observations, anecdotes, artwork) from well-known figures associated with the community. We know you would appreciate the opportunity to help the worthy causes this project will benefit. For the first volume, we were pleased to receive submissions from Jewel Staite, Greg Edmonson, Michael Fairman, Clare Kramer and Brian Keathley, and Camden Toy.
